W. Mike Heath ASHP Federal Forum Welcomes Federal Pharmacy Workforce

Women's health takes center stage in this year's keynote address.

The 2022 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada, will feature the W. Mike Heath ASHP Federal Forum, welcoming over 1,000 active and former federal pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The federal forum, named in honor of retired U.S. Army Colonel W. Mike Heath, takes placeKeynote Speaker Chasitie Levesque Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4. The event starts with a presentation of colors by a color guard from Nellis Air Force Base, the singing of the national anthem, and a keynote address followed by educational sessions geared toward the needs of federal pharmacy professionals. ASHP President Paul C. Walker will provide opening remarks. The keynote address Women's Health — The Role of Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners in Recognizing and Managing Health Disparities will be delivered by Chasitie Levesque, a clinical pharmacy specialist at the Jesse Brown Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Levesque is the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 12) network women veteran program manager (WVPM) and clinical pharmacy program manager. She was the first pharmacist in the Department of Veterans Affairs to serve in the role of lead WVPM. Her areas of passion include improving the care of women veterans, culture change, and advancing clinical pharmacy services.

A meet-the-researchers federal forum poster session immediately follows the education session and focuses attention on a variety of clinical, leadership, and educational topics.
